Special Task Force Vacancies

SAPS is seeking individuals with existing STF or equivalent military training, such as from the South African Special Forces (ONLY SF). Successful candidates will be appointed as STF Operators/Members at the rank of Warrant Officer. Those previously holding the rank of Captain or above may be considered for an equivalent rank, depending on the availability of posts. Appointments will be for a five-year contract with SAPS.

Prospective candidates must:

• Possess a valid driver’s license and firearm competency.
• Comply with National Instruction 18 of 2019 (Integrity Management) regarding remunerative work.
• Pass fitness and shooting evaluations.
• Successfully complete refresher or conversion courses.
• Be confirmed suitable for appointment.

Interested individuals must submit a written expression of interest by . Candidates will receive a written salary offer for consideration, and no appointment will be confirmed until a formal letter is issued.

Upon receiving an employment offer, candidates will undergo a vetting process, requiring submission of:

• Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• Certificate of acceptance of the post and salary offer
• Certificate of unauthorized disclosure of information
• Code of Conduct
• WP1002 form
• Nomination of beneficiaries (Death Grant)
• Proof of registration with the South African Revenue Service (SARS)
• Fingerprints and AFIS report from LCRC
• Certificate from the Commander confirming no pending criminal/departmental cases or convictions at resignation
• Confirmation of acceptance of duty

Selected candidates are expected to start within two months of being offered employment. Additionally, a scarce skills allowance is available to qualifying employees.
