We are currently seeking talented individuals with the right skills and experience for the position of Remuneration and Benefits Intern at our Midrand location. The successful candidate will directly report to the Remuneration and Benefits Specialist.

As a Remuneration and Benefits Intern, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support to the CCBSA Employee Benefits Specialist. Your responsibilities will include providing first-line query resolution support to internal customers, ensuring process efficiency, effectiveness, and excellent customer service.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: Coca-Cola Internship Program 2024

Disability Management:

  • Process disability claims within the risk-policy SLA agreements.
  • Review the Absenteeism Report monthly, identify potential notifications, and engage with the region accordingly.
  • Ensure clear, accurate, and timely communication to payroll and regions regarding approved claims.
  • Recover all funds during the waiting period of a member by the employer.
  • Communicate with the region and review communication from the insurer, ensuring adherence to timelines.
  • Lodge appeals within the applicable grace period and identify reasons for claim declination, providing recommendations.
  • Identify problematic areas in the administration of disability processes and propose solutions.
  • Provide training guides on disability processes to regions and conduct interactive training sessions.
  • Maintain a current monthly tracker on all disability statuses, sharing concerns with the region.
  • Reconcile insurer payments and schedules with funds received in the company account.
  • Conduct timely retirement counseling sessions for disability members and ensure a seamless separation.
  • Liaise with third-party benefit providers and maintain a healthy relationship.

Death Claims Management with Timeframes of Risk Policy SLA: Coca-Cola Internship Program 2024

  • Ensure funeral claims are processed promptly upon notification of a member’s or dependent’s death.
  • Verify any other funeral benefits an employee may have and complete all forms and supporting documents before sending them to the insurer.
  • Ensure accurate information is completed for the group life cover payment.
  • Institute a death investigation by providing Superfund with all necessary employer information.
  • Provide guidance to HR and training on the death claims process, acting as an intermediary between HR and the insurer.
  • Update the death claims guide accordingly.
  • Identify challenge areas in the administration of death benefits and provide recommendations for a seamless process.

Unclaimed Benefits: Coca-Cola Internship Program 2024

  • Investigate all queries related to unclaimed benefits on various platforms and provide updates to inquirers.

Medical Aid: Coca-Cola Internship Program 2024

  • Track new entrants and ensure compliance with the company’s medical aid policy.
  • Assist with medical aid inquiries and route them accordingly.

FAWU:

  • Reconcile FAWU membership monthly and assist payroll with any other inquiries.

Retirement Counseling Sessions: Coca-Cola Internship Program 2024

  • Ensure all normal and early retirement sessions are completed at least four weeks before exit, with records of sessions kept.
  • Conclude all PRMA agreements or instructions before the employee exits.

Completed General Office Administration:

  • Control day-to-day office administrative functions, ensuring accurate and timely handling of all documentation.
  • Handle telephone calls efficiently and reroute as needed with minimal inconvenience to customers.
  • Treat all customers with respect and dignity at all times.
  • Complete requests in a timely, correct, and legible manner.
  • Keep functional contact lists updated with email addresses and contact numbers.
  • Assist with other ad hoc projects within the team.

Regional HR Reporting: Coca-Cola Internship Program 2024

  • Draw regional HR reports, analyze trends, and report on them quarterly.
  • Provide reports to customers as requested.
  • Ensure reports meet customer standards in terms of timeliness and accuracy.
  • Maintain a positive service culture within the team.

Skills, Experience, and Education: Coca-Cola Internship Program 2024

  • Qualifications:
    • Grade 12 OR relevant qualifications
  • Experience:
    • 1-2 years of experience in a benefits or HR department with a large multi-national company.
  • Additional Experience:
    • Good MS Office skills.
    • MSD experience is advantageous.
